GL hosted a one day workshop on iron meteorites for scientists from the DC area. An interdisciplinary group of scientists from Carnegie, the Smithsonian, APL and UMD gathered to discuss current work on the formation, condensation, oxidation, fractional crystallization, cooling, parent bodies, timing, and chemical compostition of iron meteorites. We also discussed how the data could be interpreted to assist with the upcoming Psyche mission and what data are still missing.
